Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

In a class of 30 Students 15 students are of the height 124 cm and other 15 students of the height of 124 cm.

To find :-

Find the average height of the students?

Solution :-

Given that :

Total number of students = 30

The heights of 15 students = 124 cm

Sum of the heights of the 15 students

= 15×124

= 1860 cm

Remaining sum of the heights of the 15 students = 1860 cm

Total heights of the 30 students

= 1860+1860

= 3720 cm

We know that

Average = Sum of all observations/Number of all observations

Average height of the students

= Sum of heights of the all students/ Number of students

= 3720/30

= 372/3

= 124 cm

Alternative Method:-

We know that

The frequencies of the observations x1,x2,.. are f1,f2... then the average =( f1x1+f2x2+...)/(f1+f2)

Average = ([15×124)+(15×124)]/30

=> 124(15+15)/30

=>124(30)/30

=> 124 cm

Answer:-

The average height of the students in the class is 124 cm

Used formulae:-

  • Average = Sum of all observations/Number of all observations

  • The frequencies of the observations x1,x2,.. are f1,f2... then the average =( f1x1+f2x2+...)/(f1+f2)
