in a class of 35 students , the number of girls is 2/5 of the boys. Find the number of boys in the class

Number of students = 35
let the number of boys be x
then number of girls = 2/5 of x
then x+ 2/5 of x = 35
=> 7x / 5 = 35
=> 7x = 175
=> x = 175/7
=> x = 25
as the number of boys = 25
therefore the number of girls = 2/5 of boys
= 2/5× 25
number of girls = 10
