1) total number of students in class = 40
number of students who took neither of the subjects = 8
number of students who took atleast one subject = 40 - 8 = 32
number of students who took science = 30
number of students who took maths = 20
total number of students = 50
But, given that there are 40 students in the class.
therefore, number of students who took both subjects = 50 - 40 = 10
2) Out of 40 students , 10 students took both subjects.
therefore, number of students who took exactly one subject = 40 - 10 = 30
number of students who took neither of the subjects = 8
number of students who took atleast one subject = 40 - 8 = 32
number of students who took science = 30
number of students who took maths = 20
total number of students = 50
But, given that there are 40 students in the class.
therefore, number of students who took both subjects = 50 - 40 = 10
2) Out of 40 students , 10 students took both subjects.
therefore, number of students who took exactly one subject = 40 - 10 = 30
