Step-by-step explanation:

  1. Total student - 50
  2. Students who joined Science club - 27
  3. Students who joined Mathematics club - 17
  4. Students who joined neither club - 17
  5. Add students of science and mathematics club - 27+17 = 44
  6. Total Students - 50
  7. Hence, 50 - 44 = 6 Students

Venn Diagram

Total number of students in a class is 50.

No. of students who joined maths club =27

No. of students who joined science club=25

No. of students who joined both science and maths club =17

A\cup B=A+B-A\cap B

Lets take Science is S

Lets take Maths as M

and we can infer that S\cap M=17,

Hence,

S\cup M=S+M-S\cap M

\implies S\cup M=25+27-17\\\\\implies S\cup M= 35

Hence, number of students who neither join science nor the maths club=(50-35)=15
