in a class of 50 students, the number of boys is 2/3 f the number of girls. find the number of boys and girls in the class

Let x be the number of girls. Then the number of boys =2/3 *x
No of boys plus No of girls equal 50
So x+2/3*x = 50
Multiplying both sides by 3
We have
5x=150
x=30
So the No of girls = 30
And the No of boys =2/3*30 =20

boys and girls are  in ratio of 3x and 2x

so 3/5 *50 will be boys that is 30 and remaining 20 will be girls
