x + 2/5x = 56
7x / 5 = 56
x = 56 * 5 / 7
x = 40

hence the number of girls is 40
then no of boya r 2/5 * 40 = 16

or ( 56 - 40) = 16

Then number of boys will be= 2/5 x.

According to question:-
x+2/5 x = 56
(5/5)x+ (2/5)x = 56 {by taking LCM}
(7/5)x = 56
7x = 56×5
x = 56×5/7
x = 8×5 {56 is divided by 7}
x = 40

So, number of girls = x
= 40

Number of boys = 2/5 × x
= 2/5 × 40
= 2 × 8
= 16
