Answer:
given number of universal set = 60
let
number of cricket playing student = n(c)
no. of football paying student = n(f)
no. of students who play both = n(cnf)
no. of students who play atleast one = n(cuf)
now.
n(cuf) = 60 - 5 = 55
we know that
n(cuf) = n(c) + n(f) - n(cnf)
55 = 45 + 40 - n(cnf)
n(cnf) = 85 - 45
= 40
