∴ x+2x=60
3x = 60
x = 20
So number of boys =20 and number of girls = 40
Number of students behind Mellisa in rank
(60-27) =33
Number of boys ahead of Mellisa in rank =9
Number of boys behind Mellisa in rank =(20−9)=11
∴ Number of girls behind Mellisa in rank = (33−11) = 22
