Given : 72 children are seated in rows and columns in such a way that the number of children in each row is 12.5% more than the number of children in each column

To Find :   How many children are there in each row

Solution:

Let say number of children in each column  = C

number of children in each row is 12.5% more than the number of children in each column

= C + (12.5/100)C

= C + C/8

= 9C/8

Total Children = C * 9C/8

= 9C²/8

9C²/8  =  72

=> C² = 8²

=> C = 8

children in each row   = 9C/8  = 9*8/8  = 9

9 Children are in each row
