LEFT
There are only 2 students between Ramesh and Mahesh.
Solution :-
→ Total students in class = 30
→ Position of Mahesh from left end = 14
→ Position of Ramesh from right end = 20
checking if they are crossing each other or not,
→ Position of mahesh + Position of ramesh = 14 + 20 = 34 .
since 34 is greater than total students in class . Therefore, they are crossing each other .
So,
→ Position of Mahesh from right end = (30 + 1) - 14 = 17
→ Position of Ramesh from left end = (30 + 1) - 20 = 11
then,
→ Number of students between Ramesh and Mahesh = Total number of students - ( Ramesh’s position + Mahesh’s position) = 30 - (17 + 11) = 30 - 28 = 2 students (Ans.)
Hence, there are 2 students between Ramesh and Mahesh .
