ANSWER:

Given:

  • Marks awarded for correct answer = +5
  • Marks awarded for incorrect answer = -2
  • Marks warded for unattempted question = 0

To Find:

  • Marks scored by Reshma if she gets 6 correct answers and 4 incorrect answers.
  • Marks scored by Heena if she gets 2 correct answers and 5 incorrect answers

Solution:

1) Marks scored by Reshma

We are given that,

⇒ Marks awarded for correct answer = +5

So,

⇒ Marks awarded for 6 correct answers = +5 × 6

⇒ Marks awarded for 6 correct answers = +30

And,

⇒ Marks awarded for incorrect answer = -2

So,

⇒ Marks awarded for 4 incorrect answers = -2 × 4

⇒ Marks awarded for 4 incorrect answers = -8

Hence,

⇒ Total marks = +30 + (-8)

⇒ Total marks = +22

Hence, total marks scored by Reshma is 22.

2) Marks scored by Heena

We are given that,

⇒ Marks awarded for correct answer = +5

So,

⇒ Marks awarded for 2 correct answers = +5 × 2

⇒ Marks awarded for 2 correct answers = +10

And,

⇒ Marks awarded for incorrect answer = -2

So,

⇒ Marks awarded for 5 incorrect answers = -2 × 5

⇒ Marks awarded for 5 incorrect answers = -10

Hence,

⇒ Total marks = +10 + (-1)

⇒ Total marks = 0

Hence, total marks scored by Heena is 0.
