To find :  the ratio between passed students to total number of students.

Given : 16 students out of 48 passed.

Solution :

  • As per given data we know that 16 students out of 48 passed.
  • We have to find the ratio between passed students to total number of students.
  • A ratio is pair of numbers p and q written in the form of \frac{p}{q} where, q\neq 0 .
  • We have , passed out students = 16

total number of students = 48

  • Therefore to find ratio between passed students to total number of students we write as ,

         \frac{16}{48} = \frac{1}{3}  , we write as 1: 3 .

Hence , ratio between passed students to total number of students is \frac{1}{3} or 1 : 3 .
