Given :-

  • +4 is awarded for a correct answer.
  • -2 is awarded for an incorrect answer.
  • A girl attempted 13 correct answers
  • she scored 28 marks in total.

To Find :-

  • How many answers did she attempt incorrect ?

Solution :-

Let us Assume that, she attempt x answers incorrect .

Than,

One correct answer = 4 marks

→ 13 correct answers = 13 * 4 = 52 Marks.

And,

One incorrect answer = (-2) marks

→ x incorrect answers = (-2) * x = (-2x) Marks.

Therefore,

Total marks = 52 + (-2x) = (52 - 2x) Marks

A/q,

52 - 2x = 28

→ 2x = 52 - 28

→ 2x = 24

→ x = 12 Answers. (Ans.)

Hence, she attempt 12 answers as incorrect .
