Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

In a class test containing 20 questions, 4 marks are given for every correct answer and (−2) marks are given for every incorrect answer.

To find:-

i)Ranita attempts all questions and 12 of her answers are correct. What is her total score?

ii)Rohit attempts all the questions but his 15 are correct. What is Rohit’s score?

Solution:-

Total number of questions in the test =20

Marks given for corrected answer = 4 marks

Marks given for incorreced answer = (-2) marks

Correct answered questions of Ranita = 12

Marks scored by her = 12×4 = 48 marks

Total number of questions Ranita attempted = 20

Wrong answered questions = 20-12 = 8

Marks for 8 incorrect answers = 8×(-2)=-16 marks

Total marks she scored = 48+(-16)

=> 48-16

=> 32

Total score of Ranita = 32 marks

ii) Rohit attempted all Questions

Correct answered questions = 15

Total marks for correct answers = 15×4 = 60 marks

Number of wrong answered questions = 20-15=5

Total marks for incorreced answers = 5×(-2)

=> -10 marks

Total his score = 60+(-10)

=>60-10

= 50 marks

Answer:-

Total score of Ranita = 32 marks

Total score of Rohit = 50 marks

Rohit got more marks than Ranita
