In a class test, containing 20 questions, 6 marks are awarded for correct answer and (-2) are awarded for every incorrect answer and 0 for answer not attempted. Sumit scored 36 marks though he got 8 correct answers. How many questions had he attempted incorrectly? *

marks he got for correct answers =8×6=48

marks he scored in the exam =36

marks he lost for incorrect answers =48-36=12

number of questions he attempted incorrectly=12 divided by 2=6

therefore number of incorrect questions attempted=6
