In a class test containing 20 questions four marks are awarded for every correct answer one mark is

deducted for every incorrect answer and zero is given for questions not attempted answer the

following questions

(a) Rohit gets four correct and six incorrect answers, what is his total score?

(b) Aarushi gets five correct and five incorrect answers, what is her total score?​

Solution :

The marking system of this class test is as follows -

There are 20 questions in this test.

For every correct answer , 4 marks are awarded and for every incorrect answer , 1 mark is deducted .

0 marks are awarded for not attempting a question .

Rohit gets four correct and six incorrect answers, what is his total score?

Here , for giving four correct answer , he gets :

=> 4 × 4 .

=> 16 marks .

Now, he gave 6 incorrect answers.

Marks Lost -

=> 6 marks .

Questions Unattempted - 10

Marks Lost - 0 marks .

So , his total is 10 marks out of 80 .

Aarushi gets five correct and five incorrect answers, what is her total score?

Here , for giving four correct answer , she gets :

=> 5 × 4 .

=> 20 marks .

Now, she gave 5 incorrect answers.

Marks Lost -

=> 5 marks .

Marks Lost - 0 marks .

So , her total is 15 marks out of 80 .

(iii) Shalini gets 5 correct and 9 incorrect answers out of the 14 questions that she attempted .What is her score?

Answer

(1) Correct question = 12×5 = 60

Incorrect answers = 6× (-3) = -18

Scores of Bhanu = 60+ (-18) = 42marks
