Let the number of girls be a
Number of boys = a + 8
Now,
Number of boys / Number of girls = 7 / 5
=> (a +8) / a = 7 /5
=> 5a + 40 = 7a
=> 40 = 7a - 5a
=> 2a = 40
=> a = 20
Number of girls = 20
Number of boys = 20 + 8 = 28
Total strength = 20 + 28 = 48
Number of boys = a + 8
Now,
Number of boys / Number of girls = 7 / 5
=> (a +8) / a = 7 /5
=> 5a + 40 = 7a
=> 40 = 7a - 5a
=> 2a = 40
=> a = 20
Number of girls = 20
Number of boys = 20 + 8 = 28
Total strength = 20 + 28 = 48
