In a class, the the ratio of the number of boys and girls is 9:5. Find the number of boys if the total number of students in the class is 42.​

let the coefficient be x.

No. of boys = 9x

No. of girls = 5x

As per the question,

9x + 5x = 42

=> 14x = 42

=> x = 3.

So, Number of boys = 9*3 = 27.
