Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Total heights of boys = 40*4 = 160 cm

And Total heights of girls = 30*3 = 90 cm

therefore,

  average heights of boys = Total heights of boys /no. of boys

                                                      = 160/40=4cm

       average heights of girls = Total heights of  girls /no. of girls

                                                  = 90/30=3cm

Answer:

A_b=4cm

A_g=3cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : In a class there are 40 boys and 30 girls. The heights of boys and girls are in the ratio 4:3.

To Find : The average height of the boys and girls in the class?

Solution :

The heights of boys and girls are in the ratio 4:3.

There are 40 boys.

Total heights of boys is

h_b=40\times4 = 160 cm

There are 30 girls.

Total heights of girls is

h_g=30\times3 = 90 cm

Average heights of boys is

A_b=\frac{\text{Total heights of boys}}{\text{No. of boys}}

A_b=\frac{160}{40}

A_b=4cm

Average heights of girls is

A_g=\frac{\text{Total heights of girls}}{\text{No. of girls}}

A_g=\frac{90}{30}

A_g=3cm
