x+2+1/2x = 50
3x/2 = 48
x=32

let the no. of boys be x .
then,
$no. of girls = \frac{x}{2} + 2$
then,
$x + \frac{x}{2} + 2 = 50$

$\frac{2x + x}{2} = 50 - 2$

$3x = 48 \times 2$

$3x = 96$

$x = 32$
no. of boys = 32
no. of girls = 32/2 +2
= 16+2
= 18
