In a classroom 3/5 of children were girls. If there were 24 girls, how many children were there in the group ?

Let the total members in the group be x.

 3/5 of the total members is 24.

 3/5*x=24

 3x=24*5

 3x=120

 x=120/3

 x=40.

Hence, there were 40 children in the group.
