To find : what is the probability that equal number of toys of two different colours are selected

Solution:

Red Toys = 3

Green Toys = 4

Blue toys = 5

White toys  = 2  

Total Toys = 14

4 toys are drawn  

number of  ways of drawing 4 Toys   = ¹⁴C₄ =  1001

Equal no. of toys of two different colours are selected.

Hence two toys  each of two colors  

two colors out of  4 colors can be selected in ⁴C₂ = 6  Ways

RG  RB  , RW  , GB  , GW   , BW

³C₂*⁴C₂ + ³C₂*⁵C₂ + ³C₂*²C₂+ ⁴C₂*⁵C₂+ ⁴C₂*²C₂ + ⁵C₂*²C₂

= 3 * 6  + 3 * 10  + 3 * 1  + 6*10 + 6*1 + 10*1

= 18 + 30 + 3 + 60 + 6  +  10

= 127

Probability that  equal number of toys of two different colours are selected

= 127/1001
