For the closed system :
A(s)  2B (g) + 3C(g)
Kp = (pB)2 × (pC)3
⇒Kp(pC)3= (pB)2 ............ equation 1
since Kp is constant thus if we double the partial pressure of C then p'C = 2pC
Kp = (p'B)2 ×( p'C)3
Kp = (p'B)2 × (2pC)3
Kp(2pC)3= (p'B)2 Kp 8 (pC)3= (p'B)2 From equation 118 (pB)2 = (p'B)2 p'B = 122√ pBThus pressure of B component will reduce by a factor of 22√.
