Answer:

  • (C) Rs 23

Given:

  • In a clothes shop, when Mahesh sells 25 shirts for Rs 41, if there is a loss equal to the purchase price of 7 shirts.

To find:

  • The purchase price of a shirt.

Solution:

Let the purchase price of a shirt be Rs x.

According to the given condition.

Selling price for 25 shirts = Rs 414...(1)

Loss = Purchase price of 7 shirts = 7x...(2)

But, If their is loss then,

=> Purchase price - Loss = Selling price

Note:

Here it's purchase price, selling price and loss for 25 shirts.

=> 25x - 7x = 414

=> 18x = 414

=> x = 414/18

=> x = 23

Therefore, the purchase price of a shirt is Rs 23.
