Let the total number of students be X , number of girls be G and number of boys be B
So,
G + B = X (1)
If, 4/7 of the total students are girl, then
X x (4/7) = G
X = G x (7/4) (2)
And since there are 324 boys in total
B = 324 (3)
Now substituting (2) and (3) in (1)
G + 324 = G x (7/4)
324 = G x (7/4) - G
324 = G x ((7-4)/4)
324 = G x (3/4)
G x (3/4) = 324
G = 324 x (4/3)
G = 108 x 4
G = 432
So, the number of girls are 432.
So,
G + B = X (1)
If, 4/7 of the total students are girl, then
X x (4/7) = G
X = G x (7/4) (2)
And since there are 324 boys in total
B = 324 (3)
Now substituting (2) and (3) in (1)
G + 324 = G x (7/4)
324 = G x (7/4) - G
324 = G x ((7-4)/4)
324 = G x (3/4)
G x (3/4) = 324
G = 324 x (4/3)
G = 108 x 4
G = 432
So, the number of girls are 432.
