Here,

average= 9850

x/27+6 = 9850

x= 33× 9850

=325050

Now when the hod is replaced with a new hod

we have (325050-15000)+ y ; where y is the salary of the new hod

According to question

(310050+y)/33= 9800

310050+y= 33×9800

y= 33×9800- 310050 (use calculator here)

= 50( 33×196 - 6201)

= 50×3( 11×196- 2067)

= 150(2156-2067)

= 150× 89

= 13350
