Let total no. of people be x
So 6/8 of x = 36
6x = 8 × 36
6x = 288
x = 48
So there are total 48 people in the society.
it is already given that 36 are females
so No. of nales are 48 - 36 = 12
So tgere are 12 male members in the society.

Hope it helps you.

6/8 of total people were females.
So males = 2/8..[Ratio concept: Tot pop = 8 parts, 6 parts F & 2 parts M]
Females : Males = 6/8 : 2/8 = 6:2
Given, Females are 36 more than males.
Hence ratio difference is given as '36'
(6-2)-- 4 parts===36
 1 part== 36/4 = 9
2 parts(M)== 2*9 = 18
Hence, number of males is '18'
Hope it helps.
