Given:

Total number of vehicles = 4836

No. of scooters= 2/3 of the vehicles

No. of cycles= 3/4 of remaining

To find:

Fraction of vehicles which are cars

Number of cars

Solution:

No.of scooters= 2/3 * 4836 = 3224

So the remaining vehicles= 1612

No. of cycles= 3/4* 1612 = 1209

So, the number of cars= Total- ( No. of cycles+ No.of scooters) = 4836-( 1209+3224) = 403

The fraction of cars= 403/4836

On simplifaction we get = 13/372

The number of cars= 403

The number of cars= 403The fraction of vehicles which are cars= 13/372
