your answer is here !

Step-by-step explanation:

english failed nos =36%

physics failed nos =28%

both english and physics failed nos= 12

total no of person appear in exam 100

passed persons = 100-(36+28-12) =48%

noof person failed exam =208

total person appear in exam= x×52/100=208

x =208×100/52=400

Given : In a combined test in English and physics 36 % candidates failed in English 28% failed in physics and 12% in both . 208 candidates are failed

To find : 1) the percentage of passed candidates.  2)the total number of candidates appeared

Solution:

Candidate Failed in English  = 36  %

Candidate Failed in Physics  = 28   %

Candidate Failed in Both   = 12  %

Total Candidate Failed  =  Failed in English + Failed in Physics - Failed in Both

= 36 + 28 - 12

= 52 %

Candidate Failed =  (52/100) * total Candidates  = 208

=> Total Candidates = 400

Passed Candidate  = 100 - 52 =  48%

48% Candidate Passes

400 total number of candidates appeared
