Answer:

Number of steamed buns 10 people can finish in 5 mins = 60

Step-by-step explanation:

5 People can finish 20 steamed buns in 3mins 20 seconds.

Rate of consumption is same for every participant

Steamed buns consumed by single person in 3 min 20 sec will be = 20 /5 = 4

∴ One person will consume 4 steamed buns in 3 mins 20 sec

∴ Time required for single person to consume one single steamed bun will be

T = (3 min 20 sec) / 4

∴ T = (3 × 60 sec + 20 sec) / 4

∴ T = 50 sec

∴ Time required by single person to consume one bun = 50 sec ... (1)

Lets find number of buns consumed by one person in 1 min

Number of buns = 1 min / time for consumption of 1 bun = 60/50

Number of bun / min/person (n) = 1.2 nos  ...(2)

To find number of buns consumed by 10 people in 5 mins

N = n × number of people × time on mins

N = 1.2 × 10 × 5

N = 60

∴ Number of steamed buns 10 people can finish in 5 mins = 60
