50 students passed in English

60 students passed in Mathematics

40 students passed in both subjects

None of them fail in both the subjects

number of students passed at least in one of the subjects = (number of students passed in English) + (number of students passed in Mathematics) - (number of students passed in both subjects)

number of students passed in at least in one of the subjects = 50 + 60 - 40 = 110 - 40 = 70

Hope this helps!
