Solutions :-

We have,

Percentage of passed candidates = 84%

Failed candidates = 780

Let the total percentage of Candidates appeared in examination be 100%

Find the Percentage of failed candidates :-

= 100% - 84%

= 16%

Now,

Let the total number of Candidates appeared in examination be x

Find the value of x :-

A/q

=> 16% of x = 780

=> 0.16 × x = 780

=> 0.16x = 780

=> x = 780/0.16 = 4875

Answer:

9125

Step-by-step explanation:

84% students passed (i.e. 16% students failed)

∴84*1460/16 = 7665

∴7665 students passed

Total students that appeared for exam = Students passed + students failed

= 7665+1460

=9125
