2:1 because in h2o there are 2 atoms of hydrogen , but only one atom of oxygen . this can also be seen by electrolysis of water. in conclusion we see that mass is double in 1st test tube as compared to 2nd test tube . so ratio of the mass of hydrogen to the mass of oxygen is always 2:1
