Given

  • Momentum = 22500 kg m/s
  • Time taken = 0.14 sec
  • The force =??

During the car crash the momentum would be transferred , on other hand change in momentum produces Impulse.

Impulse is defined as:

The product of force and time of contact.

Impulse (change in momentum) = force × time

But we have to find force

Force = momentum / time

Force = 22500 / 0.14

Force = 160,714 N

  • Is the average force occurred during crash.

Hope it helps
