Fav outcome = 32-4=28
total outcome= 32
probability= 28/32 = 7/8
total outcome= 32
probability= 28/32 = 7/8

Given:
In a cricket match, a batsman hits a boundary 4 times out of 32 balls he plays.
To Find:
What is the probability that he did not hit a boundary?
Solution:
Probability is defined as the chances for an event to happen out of all the possible outcomes for that event. It lies between 0 to 1 and is denoted by P.
The formula for probability is,
now the total possible outcomes in the given condition will be 32 and the possible number of outcomes will be,
Possible=32-4
=28
So now put the values in the above-stated formula which is,
[tex]P=\frac{28}{32} \\ =\frac{7}{8} [/tex]
Hence, the probability that he did not hit the boundary is 7/8.
