In a data 14 numbers are arranged in ascending order if the 9th entry is increased by 5, the corresponding effect is right most two numbers will be same and 10th , 11th , 12th and 13th number will move to 9th , 10th , 11th , and 12th position respectively.
Solution:
Given that 14 numbers are arranged in ascending order
And 9th entry is increased by 5.
To get exact situation we need to assume that the 14th number are consecutive number.
Let first number be a
So second number will be a + 1 and so on.
So 9th number will be a + 8
And 14th number will be a + 13,
Now if 9th number is increased by 5, then 9th number will be a + 8+ 5 = a + 13
But a +13 is 14th number.
So now we have same two maximum value numbers. So if we rearrange the ascending order, 9th number will jump to right and holds same position with 14th number that is right most two numbers will be same and 10th, 11th , 12th and 13th number will move to 9th , 10th , 11th, and 12th position respectively.
