the minute hand makes only11 revolutions, and so it is at right angles with the hour hand 22 times. In a 24 hour day you get 2×22=44

In each hour hour hand and minute hand make 2 times 90° angle
then, In 24 hour minute hand and hour hand make -
24 × 4 = 48 times 90° angle
but , at 3'O clock and 9'O clock and 3:30 and 9:30 it repeat 4 times 90°
so, 48 - 4 = 44 times 90°make by minute hand and hour hand
