take the lcm of the three numbers
the common factor is 12 so in each room 12 students will stay together
now total number of student =252
min number of rooms required =
252/12
=21

hope it helps you

Given,

Number of Indian students = 60

Number of Chinese students = 84

Number of British students = 108

The number of students stay in each room is same and will also stay with their own country students.

To find,

The minimum number of rooms required for stay of these students.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

First of all, we have to calculate the minimum number of students that can live in one room, so that we can divide total students of each nationality by maintaining the equal number of students (and only one kind of nationality in one room) in one room. For this, we have to take HCF of the given number of students.

So,

60 = 5×3×2×2

84 = 7×3×2×2

108 = 3×3×3×2×2

Common factors = 2,2,3

HCF = 2×2×3 = 12

Thus, one room will contain 12 students of a particular nationality.

Total students = 60+84+108 = 252

Number of rooms = Total students / Number of students in one room = 252/12 = 21

Hence, we need a minimum of 21 rooms.
