From figure we can see that, length of tile is in horizontal and breadth is in vertical direction.

Given that,

Length of the tile =60cm

Breadth of the tile =40cm

From the figure, Length of shaded region=4×lengthofonetile

breadth of shaded region=6×breadthofonetile

Length of whole region=8×lengthofonetile

Breadth of whole region=10×breadthofonetile

So, Required ratio =

perimeter of the whole portion

Perimeter of the shaded portion

(8×60+10×40)cm

(4×60+6×40)cm

=

880cm

480cm
