In a election ,there were three candidates. The winning candidate obtained 8238483 votes while the other two obtained 67,98,341 and 12,73281 votes respectively. Among the votes polled 19321 were declared invalid. How many votes were polled in all?​(word problems describe the problem answer is 16329426 how???​

Votes obtained by winning candidate = 82,38,483

Votes obtained by the two other candidates = 67,98,341 + 12,73,281

Therefore total votes obtained by all candidates is

= 82,38,483 +  67,98,341 + 12,73,281

= 16310105

Now ,

The votes that have been considered invalid = 19,321

Therefore the total votes polled in = 1,63,10,105  - 19,321

= 16290784  ( I guess there has been a mistake in your textbook. )
