In a electric circuit , a resistor of 5ohm resistance is connected to a battery of 5V through an ammeter and a plug a key . now , in this circuit , an another resistor of 10 ohm resistance is connected in series. Will there be any change in the ammeter reading ? how much?

R1 = 5 ohms

R2 = 10 ohms

Voltage, p.d. = 5V

Current, I1

I1 = V/R1

I1 = 5/5 A

I1 = 1 A

Now, the second resiator is added

I2 = V/(R1 + R2)

I2 = 5/15

I2 = 0.33 A

So, The value has changed.

The difference is 0.67 A.

You might be confused with the fact that Electric current remains same when resistors are connected in series. But, In this case, Another resistor is added and was not initially present. That's why we got two values.
