energy consumed by 10 bulbs = 10 × 50 × 12 = 6000 Wh = 6 kWh

Energy consumed by 5 fans = 5× 70 × 12 = 4200 Wh = 4.2 kWh

Total energy consumed = 6 + 4.2 = 10.2 kWh.

1 unit = 1 kWh

So , 10.2 kWh = 10.2 units.

Power = Energy / Time

Energy consumed = Power x Time

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 kW = 1000 W

Power of 1 bulb = 50 W = 0.05 kWh
Time = 12 hrs
Energy consumed by 1 bulb = 0.05 x 12 = 0.6 kWh

Energy consumed by 10 bulbs = 0.6 x 10 = 6kWh

1 kW = 1 unit

Energy consumed by 10 bulbs = 6 units
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Power of 1 fan = 70 W = 0.07 kWh
Time = 12 hrs

Energy consumed by 1 fan = 0.07 x 12 = 0.84 Kwh = 0.84 units

Energy consumed by 5 fans = 0.84 x 5 = 4.5 units
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total energy consumed = energy consumed by 10 bulbs + energy consumed by 5 fans
= 6 + 4.2
= 10.2 units

Cost of electricity for 1 unit = Rs 2

Cost of electricity for 10.2 units = 10.2 x 2 = Rs 20.4
