In a factory , the production of motor bikes was 40,000 in a particular year , which rose to 48,400 in two years. Find the rate of growth per annum , if it was uniform during two years.

production in first year= 40000
production after two years= 48400
therefore, production = 48400-40000
= 8400
if rate was uniform
production in second year=production in third year => production rate per annum
therefore, production rate = production/2
= 8400/2
= 4200
