ANSWER:

Given:

  • Ratio of salary of skilled and unskilled workers is 7 : 3
  • Total Salary of one day of one worker from each group = Rs 700

To find:

  • Daily wages of skilled and unskilled workers

Solution:

We are given that,

⇒ Ratio of salary of skilled and unskilled workers = 7 : 3

Let the daily salary of skilled workers be 7x and that of unskilled workers be 3x.

We are also given that,

⇒ Total Salary of one day of one worker from each group = Rs 700

So,

⇒ Daily salary of 1 skilled worker + Daily salary of 1 unskilled worker = Rs 700

Hence,

⇒ 7x + 3x = 700

⇒ 10x = 700

Transposing 10 to RHS,

⇒ x = 700/10

⇒ x = 70

Now, we will substitute the value of x to find the daily wages of each worker.

  • Daily salary of 1 skilled worker = 7x = 7 × 70 = Rs 490
  • Daily salary of 1 unskilled worker = 3x = 3 × 70 = Rs 210

Hence, daily wages of skilled and unskilled workers is Rs 490 and Rs 210 respectively.
