In a factory, the weight a bar of dark chocolate is 5 7/8 kg., while the weight of a bar of white chocolate is 4 3/5 kg. How much heavier is the bar of dark chocolate than the bar of white chocolate. What is the number sentence to solve the problem?

weight of a bar of white chocolate = 4 3/5 kg = 23/5

difference of weights = 47/8 - 23/5

Lcm of 8, 5 = 40

(235 - 184)/40 = 51/40

= 1.275

the bar of dark chocolate is heavier than the bar of white chocolate by 1.275kgs
