The average salary of all worker in factory is 7000

∴  The total salary of all worker =7000x

The average salary of 9 mechanic is 5000

∴ Total salary of 9 worker =9×5000=45000

⇒  Total salary of rest of worker =4000(x−9)

⇒  7000x=45000+4000(x−9)

⇒  7x=45+4(x−9)

⇒  7x=45+4x−36

⇒  3x=9

∴    x=3

∴  Total worker =x+9=3+9=12
