In a farm there are hens and goats . the total number of their legs is 160.if number of heads of hens is 10 less than number of heads of goats .then find the number of hens and goats respectively in the farm.

we know,
goat have four legs and hen have two legs .but their number of head for both are same .e.g only one .
let number of goats =x
and number of hens =y
now,
a/c to question,
x - y = 10. -----(1)
again,
4x +2y = 160 ----------(2)
solve both equation (1). and (2)
put x = y +10 in equation (2)
4y + 40 +2y = 160
6y = 120
y = 20
put y = 20 in equation (1)
x = 30
hence no of goats = 30
and no of hens = 20
