Step-by-step explanation: no of legs per hen  = 2

no of legs per camel or goat or sheep = 4

no of remaining hens left post the sale = 4h - 1

no of remaining camels left post the sale = 5c - 2

no of remaining goats left post the sale = 8g - 3

no of remaining sheep post the sale = 9s - 4

hence the total no. of legs of remaining animals

= 2 (4h - 1) + 4 (5c - 2) + 4 (8g - 3) + 4 (9s - 4)

= 8h - 2 + 20c - 8 + 32g -12 + 36s -38
