In a field, dry fodder for the cattle is heaped in a conical shape. The height of the cone is 2.1m. and diameter of base is 7.2 m. Find the volume of the fodder. if it is to be covered by polythin in rainy season then how much minimum polythin sheet is needed ? (???? = 22/7 and √17.37 = 4.17.)

Answer:

28.512 m³

47.18 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of a cone = (1/3)πR²h

R = Radius = Diameter / 2 = 7.2/2 = 3.6 m

h = Height = 2.1 m

=> Volume of dry fodder for the cattle is heaped = (1/3) (22/7)(3.6)²*2.1

= 28.512 m³

Polythene required to cover = Lateral /Curved Surface Area

Lateral Surface Area = πrL

L = Lateral height = √r² + h² = √3.6² + 2.1² = √17.37 = 4.17

πrL = (22/7) * 3.6 * 4.17 = 47.18 m²

minimum polythin sheet is needed = 47.18 m²
