In a figure M is the mid point of side CD of a parallelogram ABCD . the line BM is drawn intersecting AC at L and AD at E. Prove that EL= 2BL

Answer:

ΔBCM & ΔEDM are similar.

MD=CM => BC = DE, as AD = BC, AE = 2 BC

ΔACL & ΔAEL are similar.

EL / BL = AE / BC = 2

So EL = 2 BL

EL = EM + LM

EL = BM + BL/2

EL = BL + LM + BL/2

EL = BL + BL/2 + BL/2

EL = BL + BL

EL = 2BL

proved.
